Our Team.

Dr. Agnès Lacreuse (she/her)
Principal Investigator

Agnès is a primatologist with more than 20 years experience studying nonhuman primates, including baboons, capuchins, rhesus monkeys and marmosets. She has also contributed to cognitive research in chimpanzees. Her research investigates neurocognitive aging in nonhuman primates, with a special emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease and Women’s Health.
Agnès is a member of the Neuroscience and Behavior Graduate Program, the Initiative on Neurosciences, the Center for Neuroendocrine Studies and the Institute for Applied Life Sciences.
She is the outgoing chair of the American Psychological Association (APA) Committee on Animal Research and Ethics (CARE)

Abigail Monroy Duenas
Lab manager

Abby has been involved in the lab since Fall 2022, beginning as an undergraduate research assistant. She majored in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience. Her research interests include neuroendocrinology, cognition, and neuropharmacology. She intends on applying to graduate school in the following year.

Hannah Cournoyer
PhD Student

Hannah’s research will focus on the role of estrogen deficiency at menopause in thermoregulation, sleep disturbances, and cognitive impairment. She is also interested in studying changes in social behavior, vocalizations, and hearing across aging. Hannah has a B.S. in neuroscience from Bay Path University.

Daniel Jeong
Undergraduate Research Assistant

Daniel is a senior majoring in biochemistry on the neuroscience track. He is interested in the biology of aging, especially Alzheimer's. He is planning on pursuing PhD programs in biology of aging after graduating from UMass.

Iris Burns
Undergraduate Research Assistant

Iris is an undergraduate majoring in Psychology on the Neuroscience track with a minor in Computer Science. She has been in the lab since Spring 2023. Her interests are neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Lewy Body Dementia. After graduating from UMass, Iris plans to apply to graduate school to pursue a career in Neuroscience Research.

Keri Dahan
Undergraduate Research Assistant

Keri is a senior on the neuroscience track. She is interested in neuroendocrinology, and she is especially interested in researching the causes of brain diseases, like Alzheimer's, and mental illnesses. She is planning on applying for grad school next year and is looking forward to pursuing a PhD in neuroscience after graduating from UMass.
